Unsupersize Me in Cuba: Shaping A Dream

Filmmaker Juan-Carlos Asse travels to Cuba to where he meets the subject of the film, Ridiel Perez Gomez. Gomez is suffering from health problems and Asse offers to help him regain his health by teaching him to follow a plant-based diet combined with exercise. Not eating meat challenges the quotidian diet of Cuba, but Perez has such amazing health changes he continues Asse's program and by the end of the film he loses 72 lbs and overcomes all his health issues. This film has many beautiful shots of Cuba and has an interesting twist when Perez escapes Cuba and achieves his dream of coming to the US to be close to his son.
