Heiner's marriage is broken. After the divorce, he works as a miner again and stays in a men's dorm, so-called "Bull monastery". He meets several former cronies who have also ended up here, including the incorrigible cutter, a Hitler fan. After an affair with Trudi, the cleaning lady, he goes to a nightclub with his buddies. Jupp also wants Trudi, but she is picky and requires him to get back into the ring as he is a former boxer, for her sake. Heiner's ex-wife Gisela is now working again as a prostitute. She is found by Heiner, and the hope of a new family happiness arises.
