The Book of Ruth

Family secrets become revealed within a Pandora's box of alcoholism, anxiety, and despair, communication and faith are the only things that can bring the family back together. Ruth Washington struggles to pay the mortgage and her husband Walter's medical bills which he received after being injured on his construction job. After receiving a short-term disability, he developed a drinking problem. Thanksgiving is approaching and Ruth keeps the fact that she got fired from her job from Walter. Walter keeps the fact that their home is very close to being foreclosed on. The problems of their daughter's marriages get exposed to some family members. Tina and Joseph deal with infidelity in their relationship. Claire and Philip deal with the loss of their daughter and couple's therapy. All of the family members come together on Thanksgiving. Every secret gets revealed at the dinner with catastrophic events taking place. Ruth struggles with her Christian faith which in turn becomes the glue that puts her family back together.
