Hyonyeo Shim Cheong

Based on the folktale of Shim Cheong, a young girl who lives with her blind father. To provide for her father, she sells herself for 300 bags of rice to a Chinese merchant but she regrets her action and attempts suicide by jumping into the sea. She is rescued by the sea king who falls in love with her and enables Shim Cheong to restore her father's vision.
